Without a doubt, playing the piano has always been a part of who I am. However, I was forced to take piano lessons at a very young age and never really enjoyed it. Just like other parents, mine forced me to do a lot of things in hopes that I would be as talented as other children. Everyone aspires to be different and stand out in society. They are taught that it would make them successful in life. In spite of this, I never really saw the importance of it, and I never really tried to get good at piano. Although, the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Being locked up at home made every single day dull. This all stopped when I decided to actually try to play the piano. It had become something that I enjoyed, and it adds color to my life. I had finally played the piano solely because I enjoyed it. The pieces that I submitted are from Trinity's Grade 6 Piano, and they hold a special place in my heart as they remind me of far I have come, and it was one of the first times where I truly accepted it as who I am.
