I am Thanapat Jirapojaporn, (TJ) currently in the final semester of grade seven middle school in Ruamrudee International School (RIS) Bangkok, Thailand. RIS is considered a leading international school in Thailand, which is recognized as one of the pioneer prestigious schools in Asia, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). I have been studying English since nursery school and have always scored high in language reading and writing skills. My achievements in English have been consistent at school since I apply effective communication, independent learning, and critical thinking skills in all my assignments constantly. Although English is not my native language, I regularly communicate
in English, since it’s my first language at school.
I’m writing to the BBAY academy hoping to be a student in the Middle School Entrepreneurship Summer Program. I would greatly appreciate it and it would be an honor if the academy chooses me this summer.
School, a place where I get to learn, meet friends, become a more responsible person, and have fun while learning. The school makes me want to be the best I can be in everything I set out to do. There are many things I love about school, such as getting to learn new things in different classes, playing competitive sports for the school’s teams, which made me a very good team player. As well astaking part in a program called Shark Tank, which has given me an opportunity to present my business ideas to a panel of judges, convincing them to invest money in my project.
Even though schools have many positive aspects, there can also be negativity. For example, when it comes to choosing my electives, the choices are limited since I have to pick only the ones available to me. There are limitations for the choice of electives because popular electives like culinary classes and computer programing are filled up on a first come first served basis. I am unable to learn all the subjects I want to learn due to time constraints since most classes are mandatory and a requirement thus giving me less freedom and choice.
My interest in attending the Berkeley Business Academy For Youth is sparked by the popularity of UC Berkeley’s high profile, which has many famous alumni, namely American inventor Steve Wozniak, late president of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and American businessman Gordon Moore, to name a few. I hope to accomplish a great deal through the program in order to improve my entrepreneurship knowledge and skills. I am especially looking forward to a great experience overseas. I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up in a family of businessmen. My grandfather and my father have been successful businessmen in the hotel industry for decades now. Growing up with them has sparked my passion for business at a young age. Therefore, attending the BBAY program will give me an insight into some of the crucial business aspects that I have not been familiarized with. In addition, this program will help me enhance my business expertise and prepare me for my studies in the future through high school and college. I earnestly wish and hope that the program will enable me to assist my grandfather and father in their future business ventures towards more success.
I’m desiderated and anxious to learn more about financial accounting, marketing, teamwork, and business principles in the highly-distinguished BBAY program. I will also gain an opportunity to learn new things, meet new people, and experience a new environment because I believe that as a 7th grader, the experience I will receive from this program is more than business knowledge. It will definitely be a crucial life-changing experience for me. Therefore, attending the BBAY program will help me improve as an individual and enable me to learn new and innovative things in the world of business.
