Pravit Rojanaphruk

Senior Staff Writer at Khaosod English &
Winner of 2017 International Press
Freedom Award

Pravit Rojanaphruk is a Thai journalist and senior
staff writer of Khaosod English. He was awarded the
prestigious 2017 International Press Freedom Award
to Thai journalists by the CPJ, who described him as
"one of Thailand’s most prominent critical reporters
and a long-time advocate for press freedom".
Pravit's gift of objective reporting for a nation still
fighting for its democracy has ironically cost him his
freedom. Pravit has faced various instances where
his rights were violated, thus making him the perfect
spokesperson on the issue.

Aside from his impartial reportage, Pravit is also
known for his immaculate ability to translate
interviews from Thai to English, but most
importantly for how he listens and stands with the
people. You can find him retweeting his readers'
comments or live-streaming on the Khaosod English
Facebook page. Before working for Khaosod, Pravit
formerly worked for The Nation newspaper.
